All participants of the semi-final matches in the National Hockey League (NHL) playoffs have been determined after today's games.
The Dallas Stars and the Edmonton Oilers will compete for the right to enter the final stage of the Stanley Cup. The second pair of semi-finalists are the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers, who will fight for the second chance to play in the finals.
On May 19, Florida defeated Toronto 6-1 to secure a spot in the semifinals. Florida is the reigning Stanley Cup winner, having won the trophy last season by beating Edmonton in seven games. The best player of the playoffs and winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy then was Oilers forward Connor McDavid.
