
Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy has been sidelined indefinitely after undergoing surgery on his facial structure. The news was reported by the club's press service.
The player sustained the injury during a 2025-26 NHL regular season game against the Montreal Canadiens (3-2). In the second period, a puck struck Charlie in the face after a shot by Montreal defenseman Noah Dobson. McAvoy was taken to the hospital and has already missed the following game against the Carolina Hurricanes (1-3).
In the 2025-26 season, the American has recorded 14 assists in 19 regular season matches.
After 22 games in the current NHL regular season, Boston sit in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings with 24 points. In their next game, the Bruins will meet the Los Angeles Kings. The match is scheduled for November 22 at 06:30 GMT+3.
