
Forward Sam Bennett, recently named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Stanley Cup, has signed a new agreement with the Florida Panthers, the current Stanley Cup champions.
The league's press service announced that the 29-year-old player has signed an eight-year deal, which will earn him $8 million annually.
During the 2024/25 playoffs, Bennett showcased impressive scoring ability, earning 22 points (15 goals and 7 assists) in 23 games. In the six-game Stanley Cup finals against the Edmonton Oilers, which the Panthers won, he recorded six points (5 goals and 1 assist). Following the playoffs, Bennett was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy, given to the tournament's MVP.
