A court has deemed the accusations against five players from Canada’s junior hockey team, who faced allegations of gang rape, as not credible and reliable.
The players involved are Carter Hart, Cal Foote, Alex Formenton, Dillon Dube, and Michael McLeod.
The woman claimed that the incident took place in a hotel following the team’s victory at the 2018 World Junior Championship, asserting that she did not consent to any sexual activity. However, video evidence from McLeod’s phone presented in court showed her explicitly stating that everything was consensual.
Despite the claimant asserting that she was intoxicated that night and could not recall the moment of filming, Judge Maria Carroccia found that the woman appeared sober on the recording, spoke clearly and coherently, and her behavior did not indicate significant intoxication.
