Islanders Player Drouin Suspended for One Game and Fined $20,000

The National Hockey League (NHL) announced the suspension of New York Islanders forward Jonathan Drouin for one game. This decision followed an incident during a regular-season match against the Pittsburgh Penguins, according to the league's press service.

At the 59th minute of the game, Drouin struck Pittsburgh forward Connor Dewar with his stick on the head, leading to the punishment.

In addition to the one-game suspension, Drouin was fined $20,833, which will be directed to the Player Emergency Assistance Fund as provided by the NHL Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The match ended with a 4-3 victory for Pittsburgh at their home arena, PPG Paints Arena.
