Canadian SKA forward Joseph Blandisi, in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net, compared the level of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) to the National Hockey League (NHL).
– How do you like the level in the KHL? Can this league be called the second strongest after the NHL?
– Absolutely. The KHL has many high-level players, including those who prefer to play here rather than in the NHL, regardless of the reasons. It is definitely the world’s second league after the NHL. I find the game here a bit different: more puck possession, more quick passes. Every day I’m trying to adapt to the local style.
Blandisi joined SKA in August 2025 on a two-year contract lasting through the 2026-27 season. He has played 14 regular-season FONBET KHL games for SKA Saint Petersburg, recording 4 points (3 goals + 1 assist) with a -2 plus/minus rating.
In the NHL, Blandisi played for the New Jersey Devils, Anaheim Ducks, and Pittsburgh Penguins, totaling 101 regular-season games with 31 points (10 goals and 21 assists).
