Connor McDavid, who recorded two assists in the first game of the NHL playoffs' second round against Vegas (4-2), has made history by becoming the second fastest player to achieve 90 assists in Stanley Cup history.
This information was provided by the NHL press office.
The Canadian forward now boasts a total of 39 goals and 91 assists in 81 NHL playoff games. Only one hockey legend, Wayne Gretzky, reached 90 assists faster than McDavid, accomplishing this milestone in just 63 games.
In NHL history, only three players have achieved 90 assists in fewer than 100 games. Besides Gretzky and McDavid, this milestone was also reached by another North American hockey legend, Mario Lemieux. It took him 97 games to reach it.
