Ankalaev’s Loss to Pereira Is Nothing Shocking: Oleinik

Former UFC fighter Aleksei Oleinik shared his thoughts in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net about Russian Magomed Ankalaev’s defeat against Brazilian Alex Pereira at UFC 320.

Aleksei Oleinik exclusively for Telecom Asia Sport
This is nothing shocking. There was no feeling that he absolutely had to win. There was a long hiatus after all. Other factors, too. We counted on him to win. We wanted it. I thought he had a slight edge. 55-45. It just turned out that he didn’t win.

On October 5 at UFC 320, Magomed Ankalaev lost to Alex Pereira by technical knockout in the first round and lost the UFC light heavyweight title. Ankalaev’s record stands at 21 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw, and 1 no contest. Pereira has 13 wins and 3 losses in his career.
