Current UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall may leave the promotion after his current contract ends, under which he still has three fights left. This was revealed by his father and coach Andy Aspinall in an interview with RMC Sport Combat.
Andy Aspinall
Boxing, for sure. More money, why not? He’s got three more fights on his contract now and I don’t want to sign a new contract. If you get into the top percentage of that sport, the UFC don’t pay anywhere near as much as boxing does… and I know from being around Tom every day – when he spars good boxers, he spars good.
On October 25, at UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi (UAE), Aspinall will make his first UFC heavyweight title defense against Frenchman Ciryl Gane.
The 32-year-old last fought Curtis Blaydes in July 2024 at UFC 304, winning by first-round knockout. His professional record stands at 15 wins and three losses.
