"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" movie starring former UFC champion Usman shortlisted in five Oscar nominations

The Marvel Studios film "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," in which former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman played one of the roles, was nominated for an Oscar.

"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is shortlisted in five categories:

  • Visual Effects
  • Makeup and Hairstyling
  • Original Score
  • Sound
  • Original Song

The 95th Academy Awards ceremony will be held on March 12, 2023.

Kamaru Usman will fight welterweight champion Leon Edwards at UFC 286 in London on March 18.

At UFC 278 in August 2022, Usman lost to Edwards by TKO in the fifth round. The 35-year-old Kamaru has 20 wins and two losses under his belt.
