
Curtis Blaydes, the fourth-ranked heavyweight in the UFC, announced that he will undergo knee surgery on Monday and will not return to the octagon until next year.
The athlete said during the fan Q&A before UFC 319:

I'm going to be out the rest of the year. I injured my meniscus in my last fight. I probably won't be back until January. … I'll be out for eight weeks, but I'm hoping to be back by January.
Blaydes last fought in June 2025 at UFC on ABC 8, where he earned a split decision victory over Rizvan Kuniev. His professional record consists of 19 wins and five losses, with one bout ruled a no contest.
