Former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo advised heavyweight titleholder Tom Aspinall not to take Dana White's words to heart regarding the claim that the Brit allegedly did not want to continue the fight against Ciryl Gane.
Henry Cejudo, in an interview with Shakiel Mahjouri
The biggest thing that Tom needs to take from all this is … he has to remember that Dana White’s a promoter. He’s a fighter. Dana White has never fought in the cage before. My mentor told me that, because I was pissed at Dana too. I don’t think you should ever take anything personal, because you’re an employee under the boss. So don’t fight with them, bro.
Aspinall last stepped into the octagon against Ciryl Gane in October of this year at UFC 321. That bout was stopped in the first round due to eye pokes from Ciryl and was declared a no contest, as Tom could not continue the fight. He holds a record of 15 wins, three losses, and one no contest.
Cejudo last fought Song Yadong in February of this year at UFC Fight Night 252. In that contest, Henry suffered a loss by technical decision. He holds a record of 16 wins and two losses.
