Henry Cejudo's manager, Ali Abdelaziz, has denied that a fight between his client and current UFC lightweight champion Aljamain Sterling is in the works for April 8th.
"Fake news," Abdelaziz wrote under a post referring to the upcoming fight between Cejudo and Sterling.
Cejudo last fought fellow countryman Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 in May 2020. Henry won that bout via second-round technical knockout. He announced the end of his career after that fight, but recently decided to return to the octagon. Cejudo has a record of 16 wins and two losses.
Sterling last stepped into the Octagon against American T.J. Dillashaw at UFC 280 last October. The fight ended in Aljamain's favor with a second round TKO. He has a record of 22 wins and three losses.
