"Chimaev delivered an excellent performance. The wrestling was great, and the audience was happy. Yes, I thought the fight would be tougher for Khamzat than it turned out to be. I expected Du Plessis to at least defend himself a couple of times, but Chimaev had very good, effective takedowns. Dricus simply wasn’t ready for that. After the fight, Khamzat probably gave Du Plessis a wrestling manual.
At UFC 319 in Chicago, Khamzat Chimaev defeated Dricus Du Plessis by unanimous decision. Chimaev expressed his desire to return to the octagon in October at UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi. His record now stands at 15 wins and no losses, while Du Plessis holds a new record of 23-3.
