Former UFC title challenger in the middle and light heavyweight Chael Sonnen commented on being knocked out several times during his grappling match with Craig Jones at the CJI 2 event.

The first thing you do in a position like that is relax. That’s all that was. I don’t blame anybody, and I’m not upset. Misinterpretations happen. I forgive you. The contract said 3 out of 5.
Early in the match Sonnen managed to take Jones to the mat but was immediately caught in a choke and lost consciousness. Upon regaining consciousness he agreed to continue the match. On the second attempt Sonnen again took his opponent down and applied a leg lock, but was again caught in a buggy choke and lost consciousness once more.
After coming to, Sonnen offered to continue the match to a best-of-five, first to three wins, but referee John McCarthy declared the bout over.
