American fighter Colby Covington shared his opinion that the current UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria could be the most dangerous opponent for welterweight titleholder Islam Makhachev.

You’re going to have to stuff his takedowns and make him work like Volkanovski did in that first fight. You just stuff the takedowns and brawl with him. I think Topuria is the perfect fight for him. I think that fight needs to happen.
Makhachev last stepped into the Octagon against Jack Della Maddalena on November 16 in the main event of UFC 322 in New York, USA. Islam won that fight by unanimous decision and became the UFC welterweight Champion. His record stands at 28 wins and one loss.
Topuria last fought against Charles Oliveira in June of this year at UFC 317. In that bout, Ilia won by knockout in the first round and claimed the UFC lightweight championship title. His record is 17 wins and zero losses.
