UFC President Dana White explained why Rashid Vagabov, a fighter from Khabib Nurmagomedov’s team, was the only winner at the latest Dana White’s Contender Series who did not get a UFC contract.
Dana White
7-1 favorite, talking to me during the fight, telling me you’re going to be a world champion, while you’re having a tough time beating the guy who was a 7-1 underdog. Not tonight, my friend. Maybe again. You’re obviously a talented guy. Get back in the gym, and maybe we’ll see you again.
On October 1, Vagabov defeated Brazilian Paulo Henrique by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
Vagabov’s last fight before that was in February 2025 at UAE Warriors 58, where he won by submission in round two against Denis Araujo. His record stands at 14 wins and 2 losses.
