UFC president Dana White said former two‑division champion Jon Jones personally apologized to him for withdrawing from the scheduled fight against Tom Aspinall.

Well, it wasn’t a conversation. He reached out, he wrote like a text, saying “Sorry I was all played out,” or whatever. “I want to fight at the White House, I’m serious about that.” Has that changed my view? No. I appreciate it, I appreciate him reaching out, but I need people I can count on for that fight. I know who they are and who they are not.
The White House UFC event is planned for July 4, 2026. Jones last fought Stipe Miocic in November 2024 at UFC 309, winning by TKO in the third round to defend the heavyweight title. His record stands at 28 wins, one loss and one no‑contest.
Jones was also the UFC light heavyweight champion, winning that title in March 2011 at UFC 128 with a third‑round TKO over Brazilian Mauricio Rua.
