American mixed martial arts fighter Nate Diaz has revealed that the role of the main antagonist in the remake of the movie Road house was originally offered to him, but after his refusal, the role went to Conor McGregor.
I was supposed to do Conor McGregor's part in Road House. That was my part but I was like, 'I'm not fighting,' I'm not going to go in there and lose in a fight. I [have] seen the original Road House, I'm like so I'm the main bad guy, I'm supposed to fight? Okay, who's Patrick Swayze then? And they said it was Jake Gyllenhaal. I'm like I ain't going to no movie and losing to no Brokeback Mountain. I'm good... I'm like, 'I ain't losing nobody in no fight.'
Recall that 2024 Road House is a remake of the 80s action movie. The movie tells the story of former UFC fighter Dalton (Jake Gyllenhaal), who takes a job as a bouncer at a roadside restaurant. Former UFC two weight class champion Conor McGregor played the main villain.
Diaz last fought under MMA rules against Tony Ferguson in September 2022 at UFC 279. Nate won that fight in the fourth round with a choke hold. He has 21 wins and 13 losses on his record.
McGregor last entered the octagon in July 2021 at UFC 264, losing to Dustin Poirier by technical knockout (leg injury) in the first round. He has 22 wins and six losses on his record.
