UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili suffered a pinky toe injury two weeks before his rematch with Sean O'Malley, which takes place June 8 at UFC 317 in Newark, N.J., USA.
“Why did you break my toe, my friend?” - Dvalishvili said in a social media video, addressing his sparring partner Cameron Sandoval.
“It's you, you hit me in the head and broke your toe,” Sandoval objected.
“I'm gonna cut it off,” Merab said.
The first fight between Dvalishvili and O'Malley took place at UFC 306 in September 2024. Merab won the fight by unanimous decision and claimed the UFC bantamweight championship belt.
Dvalishvili's mixed martial arts record has 19 wins and four losses. O'Malley has 18 wins and two losses on his record, and one fight was ruled as a no contest.
