American fighter Tony Ferguson stated that he is ready to face former UFC lightweight champion, Russia's Khabib Nurmagomedov, at a UFC event in the White House, which is scheduled to take place on June 14, 2026.
The UFC attempted to arrange the fight between Ferguson and Nurmagomedov five times, but the bout was canceled each time for various reasons.
There’s only two people that I want to go and fight, regardless of where it’s going to be. And the interesting fights that are going to be like that would be either Conor or Khabib. It’s going to sell tickets. You put me up there with Khabib at the White House, and I guarantee you guys are going to have fireworks.
Ferguson will next fight Warren Spencer on December 20 in Dubai, UAE. The Misfits Boxing interim middleweight title will be on the line in that contest.
Ferguson last fought against Nathaniel "Salt Papi" Bustamante in August of this year at Misfits Boxing 22. Tony won that fight by technical knockout in the third round and claimed the Misfits Boxing interim middleweight title. His MMA record stands at 25 wins and 11 losses.
Nurmagomedov last stepped into the Octagon against Justin Gaethje in October 2020 at UFC 254. That fight, which was stopped in the second round, ended in favor of Khabib by technical submission. His record stands at 29 wins with zero losses.
