PFL heavyweight title contender Vadim Nemkov, in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net, shared his thoughts on Alexander Volkov’s performance against Jailton Almeida at UFC 321.
"The fight was unclear. Almeida was better in wrestling, but Volkov won some small moments. In the first round, Alexander was able to control and strike effectively. If Almeida had landed punches, the victory would have gone to him. But since he just lay there, the judges awarded the win to Volkov," Nemkov said.
I think the fight was even but with a slight advantage for Alexander. The third round was decisive. Almeida did nothing besides takedowns. Volkov tried to do damage from every position, landing knees in the clinch.
Recall that the fight between Alexander Volkov and Jailton Almeida took place at UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi, where Alexander won by split decision. Volkov’s record stands at 39 wins and 11 losses. Almeida has 22 wins and four losses.
