Former two-division UFC champion Randy Couture has been discharged and moved to outpatient care after being hospitalized due to a race track accident during a training session, according to MMA Fighting.
The American fighter is still recovering from first and second-degree burns sustained in the incident, along with several broken ribs, but his condition no longer requires him to stay in a medical facility.
Couture was involved in the accident while preparing for his debut in the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), a racing series he has long admired.
His last fight was against Brazilian legend Lyoto Machida in April 2011 at UFC 129, where Couture lost by knockout in the second round. He holds a mixed martial arts record of 19 wins and 11 losses.
