Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson commented on Dricus Du Plessis’s future after his loss to Khamzat Chimaev, advising the South African to change his weight classes.
Quinton Jackson
He just got destroyed. DDP shouldn’t even say the word ‘Re’ or ‘Match’ in the same f—— sentence in an interview, with all due respect. DDP needs to probably go to a different weight class. He probably should drop down in weight, he’s stuck.
Chimaev and Du Plessis met on August 17 in the main event of UFC 319 in Chicago. Chimaev won by unanimous decision and claimed the UFC middleweight title.
Chimaev is now 15–0 in MMA. Du Plessis has a 23–3 record.
Jackson last fought under MMA rules against Fedor Emelianenko in December 2019 at Bellator 237, losing by first-round knockout. His career record is 38 wins and 14 losses.
