Former UFC welterweight fighter Ben Askren is seriously ill. This was reported by the athlete's wife on social networks.
Askren was admitted to a hospital in critical condition with a severe staph infection and pneumonia. According to the wife of the fighter, at the moment he is unresponsive.
Askren last fought against famous blogger Jake Paul under the rules of boxing in April 2021. Ben suffered a first round knockout defeat in that fight. Askren has 19 wins and two losses in MMA, and one of his fights was recognized as a no contest.
