Former UFC Fighter Castro Arrested on Kidnapping and Domestic Violence Charges

Former Brazilian UFC fighter Godofredo Castro, also known as Godofredo Pepey, has been arrested in Florida and is currently under immigration control, which could lead to his deportation from the United States.

According to online court records obtained by MMA Fighting, Castro faces four charges, including kidnapping with the intent to inflict bodily harm or intimidate the victim. Under Florida law, this is a felony that may carry a life sentence. He is also accused of domestic violence.

Castro last competed in the UFC in 2018, losing by first-round knockout to Mirsad Bektić. In February 2022, he was defeated by Abdoul Abdouraguimov via first-round submission at Ares FC 3. His MMA record includes 14 wins, seven losses, and one no-contest.
