Goncharov Could Have Joined UFC If He Were a Citizen of Uzbekistan: Azizyan

In an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net, Gor Azizyan, founder of the Gor MMA club, shared his thoughts on the potential signing of former ACA heavyweight champion Evgeniy Goncharov to the UFC.

Gor Azizyan exclusively for Telecom Asia Sport
Evgeniy Goncharov is doing everything he can to get signed by the UFC. The only issues stem from the political situation. If he were a citizen of Uzbekistan, he could have joined the UFC. It's more challenging for the Russians. Goncharov has defeated all the top heavyweights in Russia, yet the UFC hasn't signed him, while they're picking up fighters with poor records. If Goncharov were Brazilian, he would have been signed without any problems. Evgeniy will find his place, whether it’s in the UFC or PFL. He won’t stay without fights.

Goncharov has a record of 22 wins and three losses and is currently on a seven-fight winning streak.
