Hawaii Police Issue Arrest Warrant for Former UFC Champion BJ Penn

Former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion BJ Penn, who was arrested on May 25 for allegedly stalking his mother, Lorraine Shin, has been placed on the wanted list.

Penn claims that his mother and brothers were killed and replaced by impostors in a conspiracy aimed at taking control of the family fortune. He was detained and soon released on a $2,000 bail. A court hearing was scheduled for May 27, but Penn failed to appear, leading the Hawaii Police Department to issue an arrest warrant. The fighter has requested the court to withdraw the warrant, claiming he has COVID-19 and is supposedly too ill to attend the hearing.

Penn last fought against Clay Guida in May 2019 at UFC 237. In that fight, which went the full distance, BJ was defeated by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 16 wins, 14 losses and two draws to his name in mixed martial arts.
