Former UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira responded to comments by Magomed Ankalaev’s coach, Sukhrab Magomedov, who claimed the Brazilian lacks knockout power.
Alex Pereira
It’s just talk, he saw it in my fight with Ankalaev, but he also saw it all the other fights. Even [referee Marc Goddard] said he hadn’t seen anything like that. But it’s good, let him think that. He’ll be in for a surprise.
The rematch between Ankalaev and Pereira is scheduled for October 5 in Las Vegas at UFC 320. Their first fight, held in March 2025 at UFC 313, ended with a unanimous decision victory for Ankalaev. Ankalaev’s record stands at 20 wins, one loss, and one draw, with one no contest, while Pereira holds 12 wins and three losses.
