Sean Strickland, the former UFC middleweight champion, spoke out against arresting Raja Jackson, the son of former UFC champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, after Raja assaulted wrestler Syko Stu. Strickland argued that Raja should not be jailed for the incident.
Jackson’s kid shouldn’t go to jail. Prison should always be a last resort. I was arrested at 19 for two Felony A GBIs [Great Bodily Injuries]. I would of spent 5 to 6 years in prison if the DA had its way. After 6 years in a cell coming out with nothing, being indoctrinated with gangs and violence, I guarantee I would of killed someone. My two cents, rehabilitation over prison always.
The incident occurred on the night of August 24 during a show by wrestling promotion Knokx Pro Wrestling. According to media reports, Jackson Jr. entered the ring and attacked the wrestler known as Syko Stu (real name Stuart Smith). Raja threw him on the canvas and landed about 20 strikes on the wrestler, who was already unconscious.
Raja Jackson has two professional MMA fights on his record. In May 2023 at United Fight League 2 he defeated Hastings McMillan by first-round TKO, and in August of the same year he lost to Steve Collins by unanimous decision at UFL 3.
