In an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net, Russian fighter Rizvan Kuniev has expressed his eagerness to face former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou if he returns to the top league.
Rizvan Kuniev exclusively for Telecom Asia Sport
When I was with PFL, I posted on social media that I was excited about Ngannou joining the league, and when I became champion, I would have the chance to fight him. If he plans to return to the UFC, I am ready to meet him and fight him.
As a reminder, Kuniev is set to fight Curtis Blaydes at the UFC event in Baku on June 21.
Initially, Kuniev and Blaydes were scheduled to fight in February at UFC Fight Night 252, but their bout was later postponed to the March UFC 313 event after the American withdrew due to health issues.
Kuniev has a record of 12 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw, with one fight ruled as no contest. Blaydes boasts 18 wins and 5 losses, along with one fight declared as no contest.
