Former Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net commented on Aspinall’s decision not to continue fighting Ciryl Gane.
Vadim Nemkov exclusively for Telecom Asia Sport
I don't think the Brit was faking. If Tom Aspinall had continued fighting with an eye injury and lost, nobody would be talking about that eye poke. If there really was an injury, he could have lost everything – the belt, his consciousness, and he’d get hurt. I believe he did the right thing stopping that fight.
Recall that the fight between Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane for the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi was ruled a no contest due to eye pokes by Gane. The Brit’s record stands at 15 wins, three losses, and one no contest. The French fighter has 13 wins, two losses, and one no contest.
