UFC commentator Joe Rogan thinks the promotion shouldn't have been so tough on doping because fighters have lost their great physiques.
“USADA-when UFC brought in USADA, all of that changed and people's physiques melted. They changed dramatically. Alistair Overeem's the greatest example. They make him take the drug test, and he becomes a normal person with good fighting skills. I mean he wasn't the Ubereem anymore. This destroyer," said Rogan on his podcast.
I want fun. I don't want to see fat heavyweights. Get the f*ck out of here. I want Alistair back. Get them back on the sauce.
Recall, the fight between Overeem and Lesnar, which took place in December 2011 at UFC 141, ended with the victory of Alistair by technical knockout in the first round.
Overeem last fought under the UFC banner in February 2021 against Alexander Volkov. This fight ended with the victory of the Russian fighter by technical knockout in the second round.
Overeem's record in mixed martial arts has 47 wins and 19 losses. One fight was recognized as a no contest.
