Famous British fighter Paddy Pimblett discussed his attitude toward the current UFC lightweight champion from Spain, Ilia Topuria.
Paddy Pimblett, quoted by MMA Mania
He used my name to get more well-known and to have more people know who he was, but he’s a very good fighter. Even though I don’t like him, I wouldn’t lie and say that he’s not. He does that sometimes about me. But I have got respect for him as a fighter, but not as a person.
Pimblett is set to return to the octagon against Justin Gaethje on January 25th at UFC 324 in Las Vegas, USA. Their bout will be for the interim UFC lightweight championship title.
Pimblett last fought Michael Chandler in April of this year at UFC 314. That fight ended in Paddy's favor via technical knockout in the third round. His record stands at 23 wins and three losses.
Topuria last fought Charles Oliveira in June of this year at UFC 317. In that bout, Ilia won via knockout in the first round and claimed the UFC lightweight championship title. He has 17 wins and no losses.
