Brazilian UFC welterweight Vicente Luque revealed his plan for the fight against Spaniard Joel Alvarez, which will take place on October 12 in Rio de Janeiro at UFC Fight Night 261.

I'm going in there to get a big finish. I don't know if it's going to be a submission or a knockout. I think it's going to be a knockout, I just feel it. The way I've been training, the hunger I have here in Brazil. I see a knockout coming, but we'll see. I'm going to be pushing for a finish. If I see a submission, I will definitely jump for it, as well.
Luque’s last fight was against Kevin Holland in June 2025 at UFC 316. He lost that fight by submission in the second round. His record stands at 23 wins, 11 losses, and one draw.
Alvarez last fought Drakkar Klose in December 2024 at UFC on ESPN 63, winning by knockout in the first round. His record is 22 wins and three losses.
