In October 2024, Topuria knocked out Holloway in the third round and defended his featherweight title.
For context, the fight between Holloway and Poirier is set to headline UFC 318 on July 20 in New Orleans, USA. Their first encounter was in February 2012 at UFC 143, where Poirier won via submission (triangle choke and elbow lock) in the first round. In April 2019, at UFC 236, Dustin beat Holloway by unanimous decision. Poirier’s record stands at 30 wins and nine losses, with one fight ruled as no contest. Holloway has 26 victories and eight defeats to his name.
