Top UFC heavyweight Tai Tuivasa has shared a high opinion of the skills possessed by former title challenger Ciryl Gane.
Tai Tuivasa, quoted by Sherdog
This is our job. There’s no hard feelings. If we have to fight each other, we have to get in there and punch the s—t out of each other. But other than that, we learn from each other and we try to better ourselves. It’s always a great experience training with a champ. Cyril’s a champion bloke, he’s a champion fighter, and it’s an honor to be training with him.
In October, at UFC 321, Gane fought Tom Aspinall for the heavyweight strap. The bout was stopped in the first round due to accidental eye pokes from Gane and was ruled a no contest after Aspinall was unable to continue. Gane’s record stands at 15 wins, three losses, and one no contest.
Tai Tuivasa last competed in August 2024 at UFC 305, where he suffered a split decision loss to Jairzinho Rozenstruik. His record currently includes 14 wins and eight losses.
