UFC heavyweight champion American Jon Jones revealed the details of the conflict between Nate Diaz and one of the participants of Alf Global Reality 2 show.
Recall, Diaz and Jones were originally captains of the fighters' teams. The mass brawl that followed the conflict resulted in Diaz’s leaving the show.
One of our young fighters named Zalik – he wanted to play fight with Nate [Diaz], and Nate kind of came in a little bit on the edge. I think he has some previous beef with some Russian fighters. So he was a little bit on the edge when he got here. [Zalik] play fighting with Nate was not the best idea, it became serious right away.
Earlier, part of the MMA community called on UFC management to strip Jones of his title for delaying a unification fight with interim division champion Tom Aspinall.
Jones last stepped into the octagon in November 2024 at UFC 309, defeating Stipe Miocic by technical knockout in the third round. He has 28 wins and one loss on his record. One fight has been ruled a no contest.
Diaz last fought under MMA rules against Tony Ferguson in September 2022 at UFC 279. Nate won that fight, in the fourth round with a choke hold. He has 21 wins and 13 losses on his record.
