Former Bellator champion Andrey Korуshkov shared his thoughts in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net regarding the upcoming fight between Roman Kopylov and Paulo Costa.
It’s clear that Costa is having a bad streak now, but we shouldn’t forget the level of opposition he has faced. I see the fight as 50-50. Kopylov has what it takes to beat Costa. In any case, I’ll definitely support him, and this fight should be exciting. Costa is powerful, strong, and athletic. Kopylov is also getting in good shape and will be a challenge for the Brazilian.
“I’m concerned about wrestling, but it seems that Paolo mainly fights standing up. I expect the fight to go the full distance. There’s a chance for a knockout from both sides, but I feel it will be a cautious fight. At least, for Roman, and in the beginning. After that, we can see an early victory, if they have enough energy left," Koreshkov stated.
As a reminder, the fight between Kopylov and Costa will take place on June 29 in Paradise, USA, during UFC 317. The Russian fighter has a record of 14 wins and three losses, and he’s currently on a two-fight winning streak. The Brazilian holds 14 wins and four losses, having lost four out of his last five fights.
