The performance was dominant. I liked Makhachev’s fight. He beat Della Maddalena without a doubt, he just took the fight and left no questions. If Islam won so convincingly against a champion, I think he won’t have any problems at welterweight. Plus, we can see that Makhachev didn’t have any size disadvantages compared to Della Maddalena.
In the main event of UFC 322 in New York, Islam Makhachev defeated Jack Della Maddalena by unanimous decision at welterweight. He became the first Russian to win UFC titles in two divisions – lightweight and welterweight. Makhachev’s record stands at 28 wins and one loss. Della Maddalena’s record stands at 18 wins and three losses.
