McGregor Withdraws From Ireland's Presidential Race

Former two‑division UFC champion Conor McGregor announced he is withdrawing his candidacy for the presidency of Ireland. On September 4, the Irish fighter had urged fellow citizens to nominate him for the upcoming vote.

Conor McGregor
Following careful reflection, and after consulting with my family, I am withdrawing my candidacy from this presidential race. This was not an easy decision, but it is the right one at this moment in time.

McGregor’s last fight was against Dustin Poirier in July 2021 at UFC 264, when he lost by TKO after being unable to continue due to a leg injury. He made his UFC debut in April 2013 against Marcus Brimage, winning by TKO in the first round. His record stands at 22 wins and six losses.
