Russian UFC heavyweight Sergei Pavlovich told Telecomasia.net that before the league named Waldo Cortes-Acosta as his opponent, other fighters were offered to him, including Frenchman Ciryl Gane.

At first there was one piece of information and one opponent. Then a new opponent. In the end — a third. And the first opponent should have been Ciryl Gane.
Recall that in April Pavlovich announced he was preparing for the most important fight of his career; on June 4 he said his opponent had been decided, even though Waldo Cortes-Acosta fought Serghei Spivac only on June 7.
The fighters will meet at UFC Fight Night 257, scheduled for August 23.
