Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira reacted to an announcement of a fight with Conor McGregor at UFC 290, published from a fake account of insider and journalist Ariel Helwani.
"Great! Let's do it," Oliveira wrote under the news.
"I'm shocked that someone created a fake account, spent $8 on verification and fooled everyone. Who could have predicted this. What a surprise! Great job, Elon Musk," Helwani commented.
Oliveira, 33, last appeared in the Octagon in October at UFC 280, losing to Islam Makhachev by submission (arm triangle choke) in the second round. In May 2022, he defeated Justin Gaethje by first-round choke at UFC 274. Oliveira has 33 wins and nine losses under his belt.
