
UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira stated that he would like his next bout to be in the heavyweight division. According to the fighter, he is considering both a potential fight against Jon Jones and a contest for the UFC title, which is currently held by Tom Aspinall.
Pereira said in an interview with omelete:
I mentioned the White House against Jon Jones, and I've also even spoke about a fight at heavyweight for a third UFC belt. But I don't know – it is not within my power. I have my wishes, but I, like everyone else, am just waiting,.
Pereira last stepped into the octagon against Magomed Ankalaev in October of this year at UFC 320. Alex won that fight by technical knockout in the first round and regained the UFC light heavyweight championship belt. He has a record of 13 wins and three losses.
