Brazilian fighter Carlos Prates said he wants a title opportunity, and is willing to fight Ecuadorian contender Michael Morales in a preliminary bout if needed.
Prates said at the press conference following UFC 322 in New York:
Of course, I want to fight for the belt. But if the UFC says 'You need to fight Michael – you guys need to fight in a semifinal' and then go for the belt, then OK, let's go. Let's fight.
Prates defeated Leon Edwards by knockout in the second round on November 16 at UFC 322. On the same card, Morales defeated Sean Brady by technical knockout in the first round.
Prates’ professional MMA record stands at 23 wins and seven losses. Morales’ record stands at 19 wins and zero losses.
