Petr Yan's victory brings us all immense joy. He is the kind of fighter they call 'A true champion!' Petr first took the belt, then lost it, and then got it back – and did it brilliantly. Yan worked hard for this victory and for this kind of fight pattern. Merab Dvalishvili is a top-level fighter, but Petr did tremendous work, especially in wrestling. Everyone saw how Sterling was hanging on Yan's back and how Dvalishvili wrestled in the first fight. I can see his enormous progress. I think this fight can be called the best of his career.
On December 7, the bout for the UFC bantamweight championship title between Merab Dvalishvili and Petr Yan took place at UFC 323. Petr won that confrontation by unanimous decision. Yan has a record of 20 wins and five losses. Merab has 21 wins and five losses.
