Former Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net spoke about a potential rematch between Alexander Volkov and Tom Aspinall.
Vadim Nemkov exclusively for Telecom Asia Sport
I think a rematch between Volkov and Aspinall in the near future is unlikely. It is much more likely that UFC will arrange a second fight between the Brit and Gane. The first round of their fight was competitive, and Ciryl performed well. Alexander in the fight against Almeida showed that he still gets taken down by leg takedowns. I think the second fight with Aspinall would go the same way for Volkov as the first – there would be a leg takedown, followed either by a submission or ground-and-pound.
Recall that the fight between Tom Aspinall and Alexander Volkov took place on March 19, 2022, at UFC Fight Night 204. Aspinall won by an armbar submission. Currently, the Brit has 15 wins, three losses, and one no contest. Volkov has 39 wins and 11 losses.
