Former flyweight title challenger Steve Erceg will finally get his hands on an opponent when he clashes with Ode Osbourne in a bantamweight clash on the main card of UFC Fight Night this weekend. Erceg was initially scheduled to match up against former flyweight challenger Alex Perez at this weekend's event. Where Perez pulled out due to injury, he was replaced by Park Hyun-Sung, who in turn was moved to contest with Tatsuro Taira at last week's event when Taira’s original opponent pulled out. Steve Erceg is on a three-fight slide but remains a massive favorite to defeat Ode Osbourne, who snapped out of a losing streak last April.

Steve Erceg

Australian flyweight Steve Erceg may have lost his last three fights, but the stats don't tell the full picture. In those fights, "Astro Boy", who is number 10 in the UFC's flyweight rankings, had fought the champion, a two-time champion, and a former challenger. Decision losses to Alexandre Pantoja and Brandon Moreno are nothing to be ashamed of. The 30-year-old Erceg has a 50% success rate in the UFC, having won his first three fights before the current slump. Very active since a 2023 debut, Erceg's best moment was the KO of Matt Schnell last year.

Ode Osbourne

"The Jamaican Sensation" stepped up to replace Park Hyun-Sung, bidding to build momentum following a first win in four fights last time out. Ode Osbourne is a divisional mainstay at flyweight, but the southpaw faced adversity with a run of defeats against Asu Almabayev, Jafel Filho, and Ronaldo Rodriguez. The Dana White Contender Series graduate returned to the win column with a second-round KO of Luis Gurule last April. Osbourne has fought over ten times since a 2020 debut in the promotion.
