
Fedor Emelianenko, the former Pride Heavyweight Champion and ex-President of the MMA Union of Russia, announced that his boxing match against Croatian star Mirko Filipović is moving closer to an official confirmation.

So far, everything is going well. As far as I know, the contract is currently being prepared. Overall, there is an agreement. All signs point to the fight happening.
Emelianenko and Filipović previously met in August 2005 as part of the Pride FC league. In that bout, Fedor secured a victory by unanimous decision.
Emelianenko's MMA record is 40 wins, seven losses, and one no-contest. Filipović's record is 38 wins, 11 losses, and two draws, with one additional bout ruled a no-contest.
