The organizers of the Golden Globe Awards announced the list of nominees for 2025. The awards ceremony will take place on the night of January 11-12. The Crushing Machine film, dedicated to MMA fighter Mark Kerr, received two nominations.
Dwayne Johnson is nominated for the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama, and Emily Blunt is nominated in the category for Best Supporting Actress.
The Smashing Machine is based on the true story of mixed martial arts fighter Mark Kerr, who is played by Johnson. The plot focuses not only on his athletic achievements but also on his personal struggles, including his fight with addiction and a complicated relationship with his wife, a role performed by Emily Blunt. The cast also includes Oleksandr Usyk, Ryan Bader, and Lyndsy Fonseca.
